Exclusive Tresco Abbey Garden Gin, made with botanicals from Tresco Abbey Garden
Tresco Abbey Garden offers a sanctuary for sub-tropical plants which bloom all year round: a veritable botanical paradise. The new Tresco Abbey Garden Gin, created by Mike and Aiden at Scilly’s remote Westward Farm Distillery, offers a taste of that exact paradise.
The spirit is infused with the delicate aromatic flavour of coleonema pulchellum, or as it’s more affectionately known, the confetti bush. Native to the temperate climes of South Africa, the name for this petite plant is inspired by its blanket of delicate, star shaped flowers.
The evergreen shrub grows freely on Tresco, both within the Abbey Gardenand across the island, thanks to Tresco’s proximity to the Gulf Stream, despite being just 30 miles from mainland Cornwall.
The highly aromatic botanical is instilled together with grains of paradise, kaffir lime and essential gin botanicals for a unique and refreshing flavour palate.
Gin lovers can enjoy a Trescotini at the island restaurants or purchase via mail order from Tresco Stores for £34.99 (35cl) or £53.99 (70cl) which include postage and a wooden gift box.
